What's happening in 7th grade GATE?
GATE, the 2nd semester, 7th grade elective, meets daily for an hour and focuses on critical thinking skills, problem-solving, communication skills, to name a few. This challenging class promises to give students an opportunity to stretch themselves beyond what they've been used to.

We have been working on a rigorous leadership unit, which has challenged each student and given them food for thought on the different types of leaders there really are in our world.

We have learned about Robert Ballard (discovered the buried Titanic), Charles Darwin, Margaret Thatcher and Duke Ellington, thus far. Students will be learning about Pablo Picasso, Nelson Mandela and Emily Dickinson.

Students will produce a Leadership Project as a culminating activity for this unit.
