Greetings. Welcome to GATE!
I am Sheryl Campbell, Gifted & Talented Education Coordinator and Resource Teacher for MCSA.
This is my 14th year teaching, including six years as a Gifted Education teacher.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Affairs, a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Certification for Academically and Intellectually Gifted Education for grades K-12.
I am excited to begin my third year at MCSA as the Gifted Education Teacher for our identified students. My ability to encourage, empower and motivate students comes very naturally to me!
My post as the Resource Teacher for our GATE Program includes pulling identified students in grades 3-5 twice weekly, serving 6th (1st semester) & 7th grade (2nd semester) students who have been approved to take this elective. I will pull out our 2nd grade students, at their teachers' recommendation weekly or biweekly, depending on the skills being taught. Additionally, I am the Test Administrator for students in grades 3-5 nominated to the program.
I love to practice yoga, jump double-dutch, walk and play tennis! My blue-tick beagle keeps our family busy; Koby is awesome!
I look forward to working closely with the Gifted population, both at the elementary and middle school levels, at Mallard Creek STEM Academy! Your support is greatly appreciated!
Here's to a great school 2019-2020 school year.
